State of the Dirt: Spring 2020
Spring. Is. Here.
It’s exciting to report that dirt trails in town have dried out and the singletrack season has begun. As of right now, there aren’t any restrictions to walking/running/riding outside other than the CDC guidelines of maintaining the 6’ buffer between yourself and other trail users. Please watch for changes from the State of South Dakota and the City of Sioux Falls. PLEASE give other trail users the space and respect they deserve.

State of the Dirt: Spring 2019
State of the Dirt: Spring 2019 (FAST member update)
Last year was a big year for FAST thanks to our community. At the end of the year we had just shy of 2 miles of professionally built trail completed. The trail was designed and built in cooperation with our contractor, Trail Arts. We are extremely grateful for the support we continue to receive and sincerely thank everyone that has helped us along the way with this project!
Bike & Outdoor Gear Swap Organized to Help Fund Trail Building
Falls Area Singletrack (FAST) will host the 5th Biennial Sioux Falls Bike & Gear Swap Sunday April 7th, 2019 at the Holiday Inn City Centre. All fees and admissions raised from the swap will help fund the work of FAST including maintenance and repairs on the singletrack trail systems at Tuthill Park, Leaders Park, Yankton Trail Park, and future trail building projects currently being planned with city land managers. FAST anticipates that significant effort and expense will be required to return all existing trails to pre-flood conditions.
The amount of support you have shown for the Tuthill project has been inspirational, to say the least. Together we have raised around $50,000 for the professionally built trail we’re already enjoying.
We're nearing a full mile of completed trail. TrailArts is working to complete the lower line on the river side of the sledding hill and the FAST board is working on control gate install and trail signage.
Falls Area SingleTrack (FAST) Breaks Ground on Tuthill Park Recreational Trails
Sioux Falls, S.D. (7/3/18) - Falls Area SingleTrack (FAST), a local not-for-profit recreational trail building and management organization, broke ground on their newest multi-use trail system in Tuthill Park on June 25, 2018. The Tuthill Park Recreational Trail will be a significant addition to the FAST trail system and when complete will add up to 4 miles of single track trail to their current management.
