Bike & Outdoor Gear Swap Organized to Help Fund Trail Building

SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA — Local mountain bike group Falls Area Singletrack (FAST) will host the 5th Biennial Sioux Falls Bike & Outdoor Gear Swap Sunday April 7th, 2019 at the Holiday Inn City Centre. All fees and admissions raised from the swap will help fund the work of FAST including maintenance and repairs on the singletrack trail systems at Tuthill Park, Leaders Park, Yankton Trail Park, and future trail building projects currently being planned with city land managers. FAST anticipates that significant effort and expense will be required to return all existing trails to pre-flood conditions.

FAST first organized the Sioux Falls Bike Swap to help fund initial trail development at Leaders Park. Monies raised this year will help the group continue their efforts. All Local Bike Shops have committed to support the event and plan to have tables with sale items. (I’d like this updated with the current list)

“While maintenance to the trails is all volunteer time and work – tools, signage, insurance, and future projects all require funding,” said Adam Weischedel, FAST Vice President. “We have projects in the works and look forward to continuing our mission and building more trails for Sioux Falls.”
